dreamstime_xxl_2389302Now that August has begun, kids who have been on summer vacation are most likely counting the last few days until they have to go back to school. Your community may not start school until after Labor Day, but a majority of the country will see school doors opening in mid- to late August. At LearningRx, we always love the beginning of a new school year, and seeing as our franchisees receive a new influx of students who are interested in brain training programs, either to help them overcome challenges in the classroom, or to give them a leg up in their new classes.

Engage With Students Early

A new school year presents students with plenty of challenges, the least of which is adjusting to a new classroom environment. They might be surrounded by the same classmates that they’ve always been, but the curriculum and the teacher might be different. If they’re having trouble focusing or completing assignments on time, it might be something more than just the summer break hanging on for the first few weeks of school. If a student is weaker in certain cognitive areas than others in the class, those weaknesses can manifest themselves in frustrating ways, such as not being able to sound out a word while reading aloud, or forgetting an important step during a group activity. As a LearningRx franchisee, it’s important to engage with students early on in the school year, so they don’t fall further and further behind.
