It may only be the middle of July, but the new school year will be here before you know it. If you have children who are in school, then you want them to be ready for the new semester and everything that they will encounter over the next nine to 10 months. While you won’t know every lesson and project they’ll have to do, you can get their brains ready to re-enter a classroom environment.
At LearningRx, our brain training programs are designed to help students of all ages unlock greater cognitive potential. Whereas traditional tutoring can help with facts and numbers, our programs can help students access more of their brain power, no matter what it is they’re learning or doing.
In this post, we’ll look at three things that you can do as a parent to get your child ready for the upcoming school year.
1. Take a Field Trip
You may have already been on vacation this summer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take day trips to local attractions such as a museum or botanical garden. If your child is going to be taking a science class in school, then why not go to a local science center and see what kind of hands-on learning activities there are? The knowledge a child can gain outside the classroom can always be applied inside the classroom.
2. Develop a Routine
A few weeks before the school year starts, begin developing a routine that gets your child ready for their upcoming schedule. While they may have been able to stay up later during June and July, making sure they go to bed around the same time in August can help them prepare for the first few weeks of school. The brain needs sleep, and by developing a nighttime and a morning routine, you can set your child up for success, especially during the beginning of the semester.
3. Sign Up for Brain Training
If your child has struggled with certain subjects over the past few years, or you’ve noticed that they always seem to be a bit behind their classmates, then sign them up for an initial brain training consultation. LearningRx has centers all across the country, and the trainers at your local facility can assess the strongest and weakest parts of your child’s cognitive abilities.
If there isn’t a brain training center in your community, then we would love to talk to you about how you can start one. Our franchise model offers amazing opportunities for those who want to help students improve their brain power, and we can help you decide if becoming a franchisee is the right choice for you.
The new school year will be here before you know it. If you have a child who will be heading back to the classroom at the end of August or beginning of September, then hopefully these three things will help you and them prepare for the new semester.
