Helping Adults in Your Community

As a LearningRx franchisee, you’ll have the opportunity to meet lots of people and answer their questions about brain training. While the majority of the students who come to your learning center may be in elementary, middle, or high school, you may also have adults who are interested in starting a program. If your community has a large population of retirees, some of them may be interested in keeping their mind sharp during their golden years. Perhaps they’re concerned about the onset of Alzheimer’s, or simply want to learn something new now that they’ve finished their career.

Staying Mentally Active

A person who has reached retirement age has most likely learned quite a bit in their lifetime, including everything they learned in school and those skills and abilities they picked up while working. They may not remember everything or they may want to get back into a classroom environment, but they’re concerned about whether or not their memory and focus will be like they once were. By signing up for brain training, they can work on improving their cognitive skills and preparing their brains for whatever class they may be taking.

Others may not be getting back into a formal classroom environment, but simply want to keep their brains engaged with challenging material. Perhaps they’ve picked up a new hobby that requires some in-depth reading or training, and remembering the steps may seem like a challenge. The short-term and long-term benefits of a LearningRx can help them get started with their new hobby, and provide better cognitive retention two, three, or fours years down the road! If their family has a history of dementia or Alzheimer’s, brain training can possibly help their brain health and improve their chances of avoiding those conditions.

Staying Socially Active

Not only does LearningRx provide interested adults with mental exercises that improve the brain, we also provide a social space where people can interact with others. Senior citizens and retirees may be looking to meet new people, and if they don’t have family nearby, they may not have too many visitors on a regular basis. Staying socially active can also have tremendous benefits on the brain, and with a one-on-one trainer and helpful learning center staff, they can feel like they belong at your location. An adult may also be interested in teaching a class on a subject they know a lot about or that is connected to their career, and improving their cognitive skills can only improve the impact they have on their students.
